Alexandra Bivolu-Cârstea (Alexandra Cârstea) brings expertise in the cannabis sector since 2017, along with practical experience in law and institutional management, but also the initiation and coordination of campaigns and projects born from the associative environment.
She has the greatest experience in the field of cannabis, unfortunately, from a personal context, that of the suffering and loss of her mother, Victoria-Elena. For Victoria, terminally ill, Alexandra struggled to provide treatment with medical cannabis, initiated a national petition that became a bill in the Romanian Parliament, but without the guidance of a specialized medical staff, in the absence of treatment that could have been used successfully, Victoria died, and Alexandra continued to honor her memory, by continuing the Medicinal Cannabis project in Romania, all to bring information to decision makers, scientific evidence to Romanian doctors and researchers, hope and a safe and effective treatment in many diseases for Romanian patients.
After a battle that took the approach where the politicians have the right to decide, Alexandra assumed the role of offering an alternative to patients, a source of correct information, but also access to therapies supervised by doctors already experienced in this field, through a scientific academy of medical cannabis in Romania, which brings together both prestigious specialists and patient associations, activists from around the world for this cause, researchers who want to contribute in this field of great interest and potential for patients worldwide.
Alexandra has earned the merit of being recognized as the voice of cannabis in Romania, a strong voice that has carried and carries the message of those in need to the ears and the decision of those chosen to lead us and respect our decisions, protecting our rights.
Through membership in several European and international forums, associations and organizations, Alexandra has joined the global movement for access to cannabis treatment for those in need and collaborates with partners around the world with the aim of legal uniformity in the field, the development of this sector, innovation in the field of research, encouraging entrepreneurship and highly qualified medical specialization for medical specialists in Romania.
Alexandra is of the opinion that the most important resources she has invested in this whole process and in the project of the Victoria Mea association are genuine love, empathy and courage. The engine of her actions was Victoria, her mother, but this long and painful road showed her that on a road paved with these feelings, you can put a solid foundation in any project you believe with conviction.
The “Victoria Law” is perhaps the most precious proof of love that transcends death and transforms it into a new life for suffering people. Symbolically, the bill on medical cannabis in Romania is called the “Victoria Law”, after Alexandra’s mother. And with each step closer to the VICTORY of the patients, Alexandra feels that the sacrifice and suffering of her mother gains even more value, by transforming the lives of others into a new chance.
